      Reel (associate dean of research & innovation, Coll. of Health & Human Services, Univ. of North Carolina-Wilmington; Working Out; Eating Disorders) starts off by exploring the social aspects of food, dieting culture, culinary trends (celebrity chefs, farm-to-table), and global food practices. Part 2 presents five challenging "Scenarios" (for instance, excessive dieting and stress eating), along with suggestions for healthy responses. The final section offers a balanced look at hot topics such as the Paleo diet and sugar addiction. Beginning coverage is broad and historical. Reel's background in eating disorders skews coverage in Part 2 somewhat toward topics in that area. VERDICT Most beneficial for libraries serving college and older high school students.
