And now, they're taking her from her career as a chef in New York City back home to Baltimore, where she's interning as a wedding planner.
Despite the occasional fantasy about her British tattoo twin, Ali never expected to see Graham again. So no one is more surprised than she is when he turns up in Baltimore, ordering a latte at her favorite cafe. When they reconnect during an enchanting evening together, Ali can't help but wonder if Graham might be someone special.
At the same time, she's desperate to succeed in her new career and prove that she isn't the family flake. When she gets a job planning a high profile wedding at a historic hotel, it seems like things are finally falling into place. That is, until Graham turns out to be the groom.
Graham's family owns the once-grand, now struggling Black-Eyed Susan, and he's returned to Baltimore to help his grandmother get it back on its feet. He's certain that hosting a wedding at the hotel is just the publicity boost it needs. Ali's boss agrees, and promises Ali a full-time gig if the affair goes off without a hitch. Unfortunately, Ali and Graham can't seem to ignore their rekindled chemistry, especially when it's revealed that Graham and his fiancée are planning a marriage of convenience. Still, staying away from each other is the best thing they can do, since giving in to their growing feelings might cost them everything.
Because when it comes to love, all bets are off.

      When Ali Rubin made a bet with a handsome British stranger that ended with them both getting hideous matching tattoos during her study abroad program, she didn't expect to run into him again years later in her hometown of Baltimore. Graham and aspiring wedding planner Ali quickly reconnect and discover that there's still something between them. This makes it even more shocking to Ali when Graham is revealed to be the groom in the high-profile wedding she's working on at one of Baltimore's most prestigious hotels, a gig that could land her a full-time job if the big day goes smoothly. Complications arise when Ali and Graham can't ignore the undeniable sparks between them, especially when Ali learns that the wedding is one of convenience, not romance. Will Ali be able to get both the job and the guy of her dreams? Well-drawn supporting characters (including Till There Was You's Lexi) and snappy dialogue help make up for a plot that often gets bogged down in the details, but readers will be rooting for Ali and Graham in this sweet and sexy contemporary. VERDICT Ali and Graham's believable right-person-wrong-time dilemma will resonate with fans of second-chance romances.--Whitney Kramer

      This humorous but far-fetched second-chance romance from Hameroff (Till There Was You) finds self-proclaimed “job-hopping flake” Ali Rubin leaving a chef gig in New York City to try her hand as a wedding planner in Baltimore. Eager to prove she’s no longer the impulsive college student who got a matching tattoo with a charming one-night stand during her study abroad in London, she hopes to wow both her family and her new boss with her plans for the wedding of the scion of the renowned Black-Eyed Susan hotel. Ali is stunned when she runs into her British fling, Graham Wyler, at her favorite café in Baltimore. Despite immediately rekindled sparks, Graham is oddly hesitant to flirt, confusing Ali—until she discovers that his grandmother owns the Black-Eyed Susan and he’s the groom in the wedding she’s designing. It’s a marriage of convenience as a favor to a friend, but that doesn’t stop Ali from feeling betrayed. Though the romantic tension between the leads is sweltering, their path to a happy ending is beset by melodrama, culminating in a grand romantic gesture that feels unearned, especially in the face of Ali’s earlier proclamation that grand gestures don’t equal true love. The comic banter and plentiful pop culture references keep the pages turning, but the love story falls flat.
